Law Offices of Philip A. Kantor, P.C. is a full-service, boutique intellectual property law firm. Though we represent a broad range of clients from large corporations to individual inventors, our counseling is direct, individualized and relevant. Services include business formation; domestic and international patent, trademark and copyright applications; organizational, trade secret and license agreements; and all IP-related litigation. All of these services are informed by over twenty years of major, New York law firm experience, and litigation experience in courts throughout the U.S., including the Second, Ninth, Eleventh and Federal Circuit Courts of Appeal, as well as the Trademark Trial & Appeal Board and the U.S. Tax Court. We benefit from strong relationships with law firms in New York, Las Vegas and throughout the U.S. and worldwide to enable litigation in all forums, and IP filings and prosecution from China to the European Community. Philip A. Kantor is a Martindale-Hubbell AV® Preeminent™ 5.0 out of 5 Peer Review Rated Lawyer. Philip A. Kantor began his career in advertising at the Barnum Communications division of J. Walter Thompson (then the largest advertising agencey in the world).

After law school, he worked and was a partner at private practice law firms in New York and at American Express Company, before relocating to Las Vegas and continuing in his own practice. In his long career, he has counseled a diverse array of businesses and individuals, including J. Walter Thompson (advertising agency), Burger King (foodservice and marketing), Holmes Protection (security systems), and dozens of prominent artists, entertainers, producers, directors and sports figures such as B.B. King, Sean Cunningham, Louis Malle and Willie Shoemaker. In addition to trademarks and intellectual property, Mr. Kantor has represented clients in proceedings before the Internal Revenue Service and local tax authorities, and in complex securities fraud and bankruptcy actions, including lead management of the first and second largest tax cases in the history of the United States (The Securities Groups and Arbitrage Management cases).

Connie Masters

Connie R. Masters is a registered Patent Agent of counsel to the firm. She is licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, and is experienced in a wide variety of areas of patent prosecution practice.

After graduating from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas with a B.S. in General Science, she did her Master’s work in cellular biology at the University of Missouri where her research was on a temperature-sensitive mitotic mutant cell line. Connie is very involved in promoting science and technology to students, having served as a mentor for the NASA FIRST Robotics Competition, served on two private school boards, tutored in the ninth ward in New Orleans, and provided numerous scientific presentations and enrichment opportunities for high school students. She previously taught high school math and science. She is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), and has served on the Executive Board of the New Orleans Chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. She has substantial expertise in the protection of industrial equipment, tools, robotics, computer hardware, software, Internet and networking applications, biotechnology, medical devices, genetics, and immunology.
